TR Carpets Grimsby and District Snooker League

Doubles 25/26

Section A

Congratulations to Cromwell Bullets who managed to get the two points required to become TR Carpets Grimsby and District Snooker Doubles champions.
Cromwell managed to get the two points they needed away at GY Self Storage by drawing the opening two games of the match.
GY Self Storage picked up the runners up spot by securing the last two frames of the night through Shane Newbold and Dave Jones.

Clee Cons A had to settle for third in the table after being given 6-0 with Birds unable to field a team.

In the final match Westlands B had Gaz Dannatt and Pete O’Connot to thank for a vital 2-0 to give Westlands a 4-2 win at home to Hainton.  The opening and closing games of the match being drawn.

Section B

Westlands A had already secured the top spot in Section B and had to settle with a 3-3 draw away at Carr Lane this week.  Brian Ryley and Tony Hanson put Carr Lane 2-0 up, but that was cancelled out by Lee Walton and Gary Tuck taking the next two frames.  The last game of the night being shared.

All that was left was second spot and that went to Clee Cons Sarges Army, even though they suffered a 4-2 loss away at Healing Legion. 
Andy Stanley and Dave Peterson put Healing up, before Keith Southwell and Mark Rimmer won the next two to level the match.  Paul Stringer and Drew Winship won the last two to give Healing the win.

The final match of the season saw Cromwell host West End B in a 3-3 draw.  West End went 3-1 up after a first game draw and a 2-0 from Daz Roche and Michael Hunter.  Phil Revell and Aidy Richardson won the last two frames to give Cromwell the draw.

All that remains is for me to thank everyone for taking part this season and hope to see you all next season.

Please note a couple of dates for the diary.
Registration forms for next season need to be in for 20^th May 2026.  These will be available on the Website (under the Resources Page) and sent out to captains tomorrow.  Any teams not registered by then will NOT be entered into next season.

The AGM will be at Clee Bowls at 7:30pm on Wednesday 3^rd June 2026.  Any proposed rule changes must be submitted in writing to scores@grimsbysnooker.com (requires proposer and seconder who must attend the AGM) by 20^th May 2026.

Presentation night is at Old Clee Social Club on Saturday 13^th June 2026.  Ticket information to follow.  Please register interest at scores@grimsbysnooker.com

Couple of things.
Please make sure all sheets are sent via email.  The new sheets purposely do not have leave at Ray Edmonds on them as I cannot make it to the club some weeks due to work commitments.
Also please put full names on the sheets, not just first initials and surname.  I don’t have the time to go back through every reg form to check first names.

If you have a large trophy from the presentation evening please return to Ray Edmonds Snooker Centre as soon as possible so that we can start getting them ready for next season presentation.
