The top clash in the Express Appliances Intermediate Snooker league saw defending champions Locate Supplies travel to Ray Edmonds A who are themselves right in the title race. Andy Auckland & James Richardson gave the hosts a 1-0 lead but this was soon pegged back as Mark Graves & Darryl Pidd took the next one. Paul Smith & Andy Aisthorpe then stepped up a gear as they took the next two frames to leave Locate in trouble. Daz Potter (44) & Lee Blanchard (32) were too strong in the last two frames giving Edmonds a superb 5-1 win. Elsewhere in the title race Kev North & Scott Long put the Gas Man 2-0 up away at Clee Home Guard. This was to prove to be the difference as Keith Tomlinson, Rick Pacey, Craig Taylor & Stuart Harris shared with Ashley Wright, Dan Mumby, Mark Baldwin & Rick Gilliatt. At Clee Bowls the match between Peter Hogarth & Sons & Ray Edmonds B could have gone either way and it came down to Graham Richardson who clinched the draw by taking the last pink in a close fought final frame. Webbonet maintained their recent form and went to the Stamford club and came away with a well deserved 4-2 win. The match between Hainton & Clee Cons C ended up all square at 3-3.
In Section B runaway leaders Icing Cabin won again despite losing the first frame to Terry Robinson & David Richardson of the Cambridge Graduates. Jamie Barrett, Louis Singleton, Tony Aisthorpe, Chris Tuck, Simon Gibbons & Captain Steve Singleton took the remaining frames as the Cabin look to seal the title in record time. At the other end of the table the performance of the season came from Crazy Potters who chalked up their first win of the season. After some close frames and unusual blacks the Potters came out 4-2 winners at West End D with Pete Wood & Ray Nicholson beating Byron & Walt Simpson to seal their historic win. On the adjoining table Cambridge F prevailed over West End C with Keith Phillipson & Paul Spall doing the damage in the first two frames of a 4-2 win. Mick Forwards Ray Edmonds C continue their recovery with another win this time 4-2 at Westlands D. However it was left late with Daz Kaveney & Frazer Jones winning the last two frames. Express Appliances cannot buy a win at the minute and they went down 4-2 at home to Birds Eye despite Andy Barry & Neil Morley winning the first two frames. Dave Annis, Paul Leggett, Tony Ward & Graham Walker responded in style. Westlands C enjoyed a 4-2 win over Carr Lane Social B.
